spake Jesus again unto them, saying, It happened again this morning. Just like it did yesterday. And the day before that. In fact, I can't ever remember a time when it didn't happen. As of the time of this writing I have been alive 30 years, 1 month and 17 days...for a grand total of just over 11,000 days. So, I know for at least 11,000 consecutive days, without exception, this occurence has happened like clockwork. It never fails. What is this incredibly consistent pattern that that occurs like clockwork each day? Glad you asked... ...it is simply the daily routine of the Sun chasing away the darkness of night. You see, darkness falls on the land quite regularly. In fact, once a day. And, for that brief period each day, things are a bit different. It becomes slightly more difficult to see. There are many activities that cannot be participated in because of the darkness. And temperatures drop, bringing coldness into our lives. But, fret not... ...here comes the Sun! The Sun enters and, almost instantly, our paths are again illuminated. We can see clearly once more. A normalcy to our activities is resumed. And the Sun brings warmth and energy, removing the cold, night air. The Sun chases away the darkness of night. As Christians, do we not face a similar scenario? Doesn't darkness fall across our lives...maybe all too regularly? Whether it be illness or financial trouble, relationship problems or even sin, it hinders us in our activities. Don't the worries and struggles and problems of this present world bring a certain coldness into our lives, as well? But, Praise God, we can fret not, because... ...here comes the SON! The Son of God, Jesus Christ Himself, like clockwork enters and, almost instantly, the path before us is bright and well-lit. The fog is lifted from our eyes and hearts as the Light of the World takes charge. The joy, peace, hope and faith return...you know, those regular activities in a Christian's life! And doesn't Jesus have just the touch to bring warmth when everything around us seems cold?! Oh yes, my friend, the Son chases away the darkness of our lives. It happened again this morning. Just like it did yesterday. And the day before that. In fact, I
can't ever remember a time when it didn't happen. Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," Jimmy D. Brown \o/ Praise Jesus! |
