March 28,
2000 -- Issue #134 "I
will call upon the LORD, There
are all sorts of reasons why I do it. Call
me a romantic.
I enjoy sending my wife flowers at her school where
she teaches.
And, as I mentioned, there are all sorts of reasons
why I send her flowers. There
are the biggies.
You know, anniversary and birthday.
Without question, I want to send her roses on her
special day and our special day. On
her first day back to school each year I always send her a
rose and a balloon to wish her a great year.
If
I know she has been having a particularly tough time
or is facing a great struggle, then I want to send her
something to brighten her day. Yes,
there are many, many reasons why I like to send my wonderful
wife flowers.
But, you know, sometimes I like to send her
flowers... ...for
no particular reason at all. I
simply attach a balloon or card with the caption, "Just
because." I
send them because she's my wife. And
I love her. Because
of who she is. This
is my way of letting her know that I am grateful for all
that she does and just for being the wife that she is to me. You
know, there are likewise many reasons why I praise Jesus.
There are, well, the biggies.
You know, salvation and eternal life.
Without question I want to thank Him for those
special gifts! Of
course, I want to thank Him for grace, mercy, hope, peace,
joy and many other spiritual blessings that He gives me.
Then, there are the daily "little miracles"
that need to be mentioned. Believe
me, there are many, many reasons why I want to thank the
Lord Jesus.
But, again, sometimes I just want to praise Him... ...for
no particular reason at all. I
simply lift up my voice and sing praises to His Name. I
do it because He's my Savior. And
I love Him. Because
of who He is. This
is my way of letting Him know that I am grateful for all
that He does and just for being the Savior that He is to me. Christian,
there are, no doubt, many reasons that you can thank and
praise the Lord Jesus today.
Yes, there are the biggies and all of the wonderful
things that He does for you each and every day of your life.
But, perhaps this morning, it would be a good time to
lift up your voice and sing praises to the King of Kings... ...Just because. Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," |
