#157 "Trust
in the Lord with all thine heart; It's what gets me to where I need to go. My wife and I travel. Alot. Quite alot. All right, all right, we're on a first name basis with the desk clerks at 68 different Holiday Inns nationwide! ;-) Since we travel alot we joined AAA several years ago. Membership in AAA, the American Automobile Association, includes many privileges. The privilege that we rely on the most when traveling is the Triptik. A Triptik is a complete gameplan for any over-the-road journey. It is a specific set of instructions for the specific trip that it was designed for. In looking over a Triptik you will find a detailed guide for making the most of your time on the road. Just a few of the things covered in a Triptik are: A map highlighting the easiest and best route for getting to your destination, a hazards indicator forewarning travelers of obstacles and potential problem areas that they need to avoid, and information on where to find rest and refreshing when one grows weary from traveling. Now, Triptiks are great. Like I said, it's what gets me where I need to go. But, as great as they are, they don't do me a bit of good if I don't read them. That's right, if I throw my Triptik in the backseat and let it gather dust, then it doesn't help me a bit. Or, if I leave the Triptik at home on the shelf, it's of no use to me. In order for my Triptik to be of maximum benefit to me, I've got to read it... ...and more than read it, I've got to follow its instructions. You know, when I started down the narrow road after giving my life to Christ, He gave me a Triptik. Really, He did. It's a Triptik known as the Bible. The Bible is my complete gameplan for my over-the-narrow-road journey. It's my detailed guide for making the most of my time on the narrow road. And it's loaded with great helps... ...it highlights what I need to do to get to my destination with as much ease as possible. My Triptik warns me of places that I need to steer clear of in order to avoid trouble. And, when I grew weary and worn from the rigors of life on the narrow road, I find comfort in hearing Jesus tell me where I can find rest. It's all in my Triptik. Need direction? Need to be warned? Need rest for a weary traveler? Christian, you've got a Triptik too, you know. A gameplan for you to follow. When was the last time you picked up your Triptik? You see, if you leave it in the backseat of your life gathering dust, it won't help you a bit. If you leave it up on the shelf, your Triptik won't reveal all of the wonderful helps inside... ...you've got to read it. And, more than read it, you've got to follow its instructions. Today is a journey, my friend. It's a journey down the narrow road. Don't forget to take your Triptik along with you... ...it's what gets you to where you need to go!Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," Jimmy D. Brown \o/ Praise Jesus! |
