AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE
- Part 2

"Choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me
and my house, we will serve the LORD." - Joshua 24:15

WE WILL SERVE THE LORD...AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Can one person really make a difference?

Just an average person with no great skills or abilities or money or resources?

Can someone like ME really make a difference in this world for Jesus Christ?

Christian, YOU really can impact the lives of others for the King of Kings today. Seriously. You can.

The story is told of a man walking along the beach after a summer storm. The angry waves had crashed upon the sandy beach, tossing thousands of starfish upon the dry land. These starfish were stranded and unable to return to their natural surroundings in the ocean.

The man walked along the beach, stooped down, picked up a starfish and tossed it back into the water. He repeated this process over and over.

A group of cynics (there are always some cynics around when someone is trying to do something good!) came to the man and began heckling him.

"Hey, old man. What are you doing? Are you crazy, or something? Don't you see that there are thousands of starfish stranded on this beach? You can't help them all. Do you really think you can make a difference?!"

Undaunted, the man stooped down, picked up another starfish that was directly in front of him, and tossed it lovingly into the ocean. Turning to the group of cynics, the man said softly...

..."Made a difference to that one, didn't I?"

My friend, there are thousands of people around you who have tossed around by the angry waves of life. They have been left stranded, floundering in their own pain and hurt. Divorce, financial troubles, illnesses, relationship problems and sin have struck their lives like a storm.

Who will make a difference in their lives?

You don't have to have the arms of Mother Teresa to love and care for a needy child. It isn't necessary that you have the voice of Michael W. Smith to sing a song of love in the life of a single mom struggling to raise three children. Larry Burkett's financial mind isn't a requirement for giving aid to those in need of some extra money. No, you don't have to possess the feet of Billy Graham to walk out into the world and share the Gospel.

All you need is a heart - the heart of Jesus beating inside of you.

Yes, it's true, there are thousands out there who need help. The cynics cry out, "You can't help them all. Do you really think you can make a difference?!"

Christian, get out there and help the one that is directly in front of you today - and then silence the cynics as your actions say loud and clear...

"Made a difference to that one, didn't I?"

Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ,"
