January 5,
2001 -- Issue #291 "For
we walk by faith, not by sight." Ever
notice how we've got things all backwards sometimes? Take
for instance the other day when my wife and I were in a
neighboring city doing some shopping.
She was driving (which is a bit backwards in itself
:-), and we pulled to an intersection. She
looked to the left to see if there were any cars coming,
before proceeding onto the road.
She asked me if there was any oncoming traffic my
way, to which I responded, "All clear, go ahead." Then,
she did a strange thing.
A backwards thing.
She looked down the road in my direction to see for
herself if there was any traffic, and only after she had
verified that there were no vehicles approaching did she
proceed onto the road. And
I immediately asked... ..."Don't
you trust me?" "Sure,
honey.
Of course I trust you," she replied. "Then
why did you look for yourself?" I asked. She
sat there in silence, not really sure of the answer. It
seems that we drive by sight, not by faith. Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," |
