WHY DON'T YOU COME TO
JESUS?
"If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness." - I John 1:9
IMPORTANT
NOTE:
Today's devotional is a poem that I wrote a few days
ago for my sister and my dad...who are both unsaved. Please
feel free to forward it on to those you know who have not
accepted Christ and / or print it out and give it to those around
you who need salvation.
Why
don't you come to Jesus? I just don't understand,
How you could turn away, His loving, nail-scarred hands.
When you hear of His love for you, what do you think inside?
When you learn that He died for your sins, why do you try to
hide?
He did something wonderful that no one else could do,
When He took your place on the Cross and gave His life for
you.
Why
don't you come to Jesus?
I just don't know how,
You could reject the One who wore the thorns on His brow.
Do you have plans to accept Him "later" when you
have grown old?
Unaware that thousands die each day, never having been told,
That today the time has come, and their lives are quickly
through
What if you reject Him, and today you're on that list too?
Why
don't you come to Jesus?
Would you, in me, confide?
How you could simply ignore His gracious spear-pierced side?
Do you point to all of the "hypocrites" at church
that you see?
Those who say one thing with their mouths, but their lives
disagree?
When you stand before God, He won't ask you what THEY'VE
done?
The only thing He'll ask is, "Did you accept my
Son?"
Why
don't you come to Jesus? Could you at least tell me why?
You find it so easy to refuse the One on the Cross lifted
high?
Perhaps you are trying your best at this time for a reason
to share today,
"I'm as good as you," "I don't want to
change," or "What will others say?"
Let me share with you this truth, as clearly and plainly as
I can.
No excuse is good enough, to avoid God's salvation plan.
Why
don't you come to Jesus?
I have to ask once again.
How you could refuse the Savior's offer to forgive you of
your sin.
He doesn't expect you to ever on your own to live up to par,
But rather to accept His love for you and to come to Him as
you are.
And so I'll extend His offer in case you've changed your
mind...
Why don't you come to Jesus?
Right now is the time.
Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ,"
