May 4,
2001 -- Issue #367 "Pray
without ceasing." I
love email. I
mean, in just a split-second, you can contact people all
across the world.
It's almost instantaneous, at times. And,
you can use email for a wide variety of reasons. Sometimes
I send an email to someone to ask them to help me with
something.
When I find that I have a need that I just can't meet
myself, I reach out via email to someone who can meet it. Other
times I use email to ask for direction.
When I don't have the answers or just don't know
which way to turn, I seek out the wise counsel of those who
have that special knowledge to steer me in the way I should
go. Still
other times I just want to share something that is on my
heart.
Maybe I've had a great day and I want someone to
rejoice with me, or perhaps I'm going through a difficult
time and need some encouragement to get me through it.
Regardless of the situation, there are times I just
want to talk - and with email, there is always someone there
with a listening ear. Of
course, I also use email to brag on others.
When someone I know has a birthday or has reached
some significant accomplishment, I send them an email to
congratulate them.
Sometimes I send an email just to let a cherished
friend that I appreciate them, other times just to say
"I love you." Yes,
there are many reasons that I use email.
You
know, it would be kind of nice if God had an email account
so we could contact Him. But, of course, God doesn't answer
email... ...but,
He DOES answer KNEE-mail! Yep,
God answers KNEE-mail.
In other words, God answers prayer.
And just like with "email," there are a
variety of reasons to send God a "knee-mail." Sometimes
I get down on my knees to ask God to help me with something
that I just can't do myself.
Other times I ask Him for direction and answers to
those questions that have me confused.
Still other times I just want to share something on
my heart - whether it is a time of rejoicing or a time of
pain. Of
course, there are many times that I use
"knee-mail" to brag on my God.
I just want to pray to the Father to tell Him that I
appreciate Him - sometimes just to say, "Father, I love
you." What
about it, Christian?
When was the last time you sent God a
"knee-mail"?
Is there some need you would like to share with Him,
some area you need direction, some situation you'd like Him
to rejoice with you in or a burden you'd like Him to bear?
Why not just pray to the Father to say, "I
appreciate you" or "I love you." Doesn't
really matter what you talk with God about today, He just
wants to hear from you. After all, God loves knee-mail. Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," |
