2002 -- Issue #550 "I
am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; Now this
would be startling. Imagine
coming home after work one evening to find that someone else
was living in your home. That would
be startling, wouldn't it? I mean, if
you came home one evening and someone other than you was
occupying your home, that would kind of
upset you a bit, wouldn't it?
To think that folks who have no business being there
were actually living in YOUR house would kind of set you
back a bit, huh? After all
you bought the house.
You paid for it yourself. If anyone has rights to be
live there, it ought to be you.
Certainly it shouldn't be someone who never paid a
penny for it! And to make
matters worse, not only are other folks occupying YOUR home
that you paid for, but because of this... ...there is
no room for you! So, they
force you out of your own home. That would
be startling, wouldn't it?
It would upset you, right? You know,
it's not at all a hypothetical situation.
It's reality every single day. You see,
God built a home inside of YOU and I.
He resides inside every born again believer -- it's a
home that He bought and paid for with the blood of His Son. And yet,
too often He finds that someone other than Him is occupying
those homes.
He finds that things which have no business being in
our lives are actually living in His home, having taken His
place. If anyone
has a right to our lives, it's God.
After all, He not only created us, but He bought us
back from our sin-ridden condition through the sacrifice of
His own Son. He has a claim to the home He created in us.
And certainly our lives shouldn't be occupied by
things that never paid a penny for us! But, to
make matters even worse, not only do other things occupy our
lives -- that home that God paid for -- but because of it,
there is often no room for Him to live.
He gets forced our of His own home. Christian,
who's occupying His home in YOUR life?
Is God living comfortably in your heart, or has He
been crowded out by the things of this world?
Is He the Lord of your life, in complete control of
your life?
Or, has He been replaced with something else that you
have allowed to become a greater priority than Him? Who's
occupying your life? Is it the
One who bought and paid for it? Or something else? Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," |
