November 29,
1999 -- Issue #58 "Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter The
internet is cool. I
can download free Bible software, research the early church
History and subscribe to a thousand different Christian
newsletters without ever even getting out of bed.
I
can send a birthday card to a friend in Hong Kong and in 60
seconds it's delivered to him via email.
I can preview a Christian movie at ChristianFilms.com
, listen to a Christian music clip at MusicForce.com , and
buy a Bible at DiscountBibles.com (free promotional plug!)
and never once fight the crowds.
I can talk long distance, send faxes, get tons of
free samples and do all kinds of really neat stuff for free I
can visit places and speak with people that I would have
never been able to do before the information highway was
paved.
And
I can minister the love of Jesus Christ to people around the
world.
Yeah,
the internet is cool. One
of the things that I like most about the internet is
discovering new sites.
I like surfing through the Christian directories and
looking for sites that I find interesting. I
was searching my favorite Christian search engine, http://www.botcw.com
(another free plug!), and I found a description for a site
that contained FREE Christian goodies.
I clicked on the link and found myself staring at a
page that simply read, "ENTER HERE."
I
clicked on the "ENTER HERE" link and discovered
tons of freebies.
As I was enjoying some really neat free Christian
stuff, it came to me that I would never have experienced the
goodies if I had not entered as I was instructed.
I would simply have been left outside, never having
tasted of the treats, even though I had been given a
complete description of what was freely awaiting me. Friend,
the cross of Jesus has a spiritual sign on it that likewise
says, ENTER HERE.
Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the
truth and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father but by me."
What He was basically saying is if you want eternal
life, ENTER HERE." It
would be so sad for someone to be left standing on the
outside, never having tasted of the goodness of Jesus
Christ, while knowing fully what is freely awaiting them.
So Jesus extends the invitation this morning,
"If you want to be forgiven of your sins, ENTER
HERE." And
if you are already a Christian, there is an invitation for
you as well.
Have a need that you cannot meet?
Are you in search of healing?
Do you have a burden that you cannot bear?
Need direction for a difficult decision?
Are you missing joy, peace or hope?
You want all of the "goodies" that are
found in the Lord? Look
, my friend, and you'll see Jesus pointing to your prayer
closet this morning, and, if you listen closely, you can
hear Him say, "ENTER HERE." |
