June 24,
2002 -- Issue #584 "I
tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; My
wife and I had lunch today with some folks from our church
and the lady we ate with today told me her personal
testimony... ...and
I had to share it with you. She
had been a "church member" for a long time.
And yet, she knew she wasn't saved.
She knew that she didn't have a real relationship
with Jesus Christ. And
the Lord really began to convict her to get things right
with Him and accept Christ as her Savior and Lord. But,
the problem was this:
She was wrestling with the same thing that a lot of
people wrestle with... ...and
that is the "am I not saved, or am I just lacking
assurance of my salvation" dilemma. They
can seem like the same thing, but the end result of each is
much, much different!
So,
she asked God for a sign.
She told God, "If I really don't belong to you,
please confirm it." At
a soon-to-follow church service, the visiting preacher
actually POINTED AT HER during the service and said aloud,
"Do YOU know for certain if you died tonight you'd go
to spend eternity with Jesus?" He
had no idea about her doubts.
And so, God was providing that sign she had asked
for. Here's
where it gets funny.
She still didn't give in to the convicting hand of
the Lord.
That's not funny, but this is... A
few nights later, her and her husband went to sleep as
usual.
During the night, the husband heard her their small
baby crying
and went to pick her up.
He took her to a different room and began to rock her
in the rocking chair. At
some point after this, the lady woke up.
She turned to her side and noticed that he was gone.
"The rapture has hit and I've been left
behind!" raced through her sleepy mind. She
jumped from the bed and ran into the nursery. The
baby was gone too!
Now, she was sure.
The rapture had hit and Jesus had called her husband
and her baby home... ...and
she was lost and left behind! In
a panic, she ran through the house and discovered her
husband and baby rocking in the chair. And
she realized what happened. God
got her attention.
She knew she didn't want to miss the REAL rapture and
be left behind.
She accepted Jesus Christ and has been a committed
and active believer ever since. I
said all of that to say this:
are you ready to meet Jesus? I mean, are you REALLY
ready?
Do you know for certain that Christ lives in your
heart and that you belong to Him? Or,
are you looking for a sign -- some kind of wake up call? Consider
this YOUR sign.
If you aren't sure, then take the time to get sure.
Contact your pastor, or a friend or feel free to
email me. But,
don't be left behind. If
you know
you belong to Jesus, then give Him thanks right now
before you move on into your day.
What a wonderful blessing that Salvation is.
Jesus deserves to be praised for going to the Cross
for us!!! If
you are having doubts, why not accept Him now, and let Him
change your life forever. Are you ready to meet Him? Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ," |
