#77 "And
all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, It had been one of those days. You know the kind, seems like everything in the world is going wrong and the end seems near. Know what I mean? My wife and I had left out three hours earlier for a large flea market in a neighboring state, where we were to set up a booth and sell our wares. We had gotten off to a late start, forgot some things and had to turn back, started over again, ran into an incredible traffic jam in Memphis, Tennessee, got lost and finally arrived at the flea market an hour late only to find... ...there was no place to park! We were tired, discouraged and worried as we circled the parking lot looking for a place to park. It was packed. There were twice as many vehicles as there were parking places. Seriously! There were. People were parked in the aisles between parking places, all along the road for as far as the eye could see, some in the middle of the road, in tow away zones, everywhere! It was very difficult just to maneuver through the vehicles to keep searching! As we made our way through the maze of cars, trucks and campers, we didn't see a sign, but the empty space UP FRONT just kind of leaped out at us and said, "Park Here!" We did. What a relief! What a boost of energy! What a lift to our spirits! Amazing how a parking place can bring about such changes. Yes, there are spiritual "No Parking" zones, those places where Christians should never park their lives. But, praise the Lord, there are places that Christians can find parking spaces! Are you
spiritually tired? Jesus says, "Come unto me, all
ye that
labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
In other What about discouragement? Are you discouraged this morning? "Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might." You got it, "Park Here!" Worried? Jesus has a message for you, "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things." Again, "Park Here!" You see, there ARE places that Christians OUGHT to park. Places like spiritual rest, spiritual strength and spiritual trust. There are more signs that Christ puts up for us, as well... Peace...Park Here! Hope...Park Here! Joy...Park Here! Faith...Park Here! Good works, love, wisdom, guidance, assurance, confidence...all of these things are found in Christ Jesus and they have a sign displayed prominently..."Park Here!" Like an UP
FRONT parking place left us encouraged, so can a
spiritual parking place in the sufficiency of Jesus leave us
spiritually The Lord's arms are open wide and He's beckoning you to a place that is reserved especially for you this morning. He's got the rest your wearied soul needs, the deliverance from those burdens that are dragging you down, the guidance and direction that you desperately need. Want relief? Want a boost of energy? What about a lift in your spirits? I believe the Lord would say to you this morning, "Here's where you can find these things," as He points to your prayer closet and says... ..."Park
Here!" |
